tyre loks safety bands
This unique product prevents your tyre from leaving the rim in the event of blowout,
enabling you to drive to safety on a flat tyre.

Modern vehicles are manufactured to last a lifetime under normal driving conditions and reliability
is unquestionable, yet there is something that is unforeseeable, and dreaded…

Punctures or blow-outs, need no longer need be traumatic… drive on to safety with tyre loks

 What are tyre loks...
Tyre deflation at any speed in any vehicle is a frightening experience. When you loose steering and
braking control as a result of
tyre deflation, the consequences can be disastrous. In the event of a
puncture or blow out,
tyre loks don't allow the tyre to leave the rim, enabling braking and steering.

  Tyre deflation...

Standard rims are manufactured with a well to allow the fitting of tyres
Without this well, it would be impossible to change a tyre
without damaging it.
If air is suddenly lost from a tyre, due to a puncture or blow-out, the pressure
becomes insufficient to hold the tyre on its correct place on the rim.
Once this happens the remaining air escapes with a “bang.” As the tyre is
now without air, it will flap about. The rim does not grip the tyre securely,
beads may be drawn into the well of the rim resulting in a dramatic loss of control.
On a wheel fitted with
tyre loks, the tyre is prevented from entering the well.
It is as simple as it sounds, and it could save your life!!

With
tyre loks, the tyre has nowhere to go but stay on the rim. This ensures a solid platform
to run on (rubber is sandwiched between the rim and the road) The tyre will thus be locked on
to the rim without premature failing, which means you STAY IN CONTROL OF YOUR VEHICLE,
minimizing damage to costly “mag rims” or wrecking your vehicle.

Should a vehicle have a puncture in a desolate or dangerous area (particularly at night) the vehicle
can be driven with complete safety for distances up to 20 km’s (depending on the road surface and speed)
until reaching a secure destination. This is of particular importance in South Africa, where the fear
of being attacked is a major concern.

6   No. 27999              GOVERNMENT GAZETTE. 2 SEPTEMBER 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------   Amendment of regulation 212 of the Regulations

 7.  Regulation 212 of the Regulations is amended by: -

(a)  by  the deletion of the word “or” at the end of paragraph (l);

(b)  the addition of the following after paragraphs (n)

 (n) All minibuses, midibuses and buses, operating in terms of an operating licence issued in accordance with the NLTTA shall on or after the  1 January 2006, be fitted with commercial steel radial tyres with not less than 6 ply Rating.” ; and  “ (o)    All minibuses, midibuses and buses, operating in terms  of  an operating licence issued in accordance with the NLTTA shall, be fitted with anti-burst stabilizer device;

LOCATION / MOBILE FITMENT UNIT.

In some areas, we have fully equipped mobile units and we come to you. Several major tyre franchises
are equipped to fit on their premises.( Be aware that tyre manufacturers have introduced tyres that allow
you to drive on a flat tyre, but are extremely expensive..

A number of companies have used the “General duties of employers to employees” to strengthen their
justification for fitting
tyre loks to their company motor vehicles, commercial trucks and panel vans.

Clause 8 of the O H S act states:

1. Every employer shall provide and maintain as far as is reasonably practicable a working environment
that is safe and without risk to the health of his employees.

2. Without derogating from the generality of employer’s duties under subsection.

3. The matters to which those duties refer include in particular:

The provision and maintenance of systems of work, plant and machinery that, as far as reasonable,
are safe and without risk to health.

a)    Taking such steps as is reasonably practical to eliminate or mitigate any hazard to the safety
or health of employees before resorting to personal protective equipment.

Thus, as can be seen in the above paragraphs, any person employed where driving is part of their
job description
, be it as a driver, sales person or managing director – their vehicle becomes an extension
of the workplace
. It is only reasonable and fair to fit
tyre loks to their vehicles to ensure the safety of the occupants
This reflects the willingness of employer to safeguard their employees in the execution of their duties.

  ISO STANDARDS

The fitment of tyre loks is specifically important to companies subscribing to ISO standards as it gives
the assurance that tyre defects will not cause injury to life or assets.

TAX DEDUCTABLE

The fitting of tyre loks to company vehicles is a legitimate expense and thus deductible as a business expense.
